100 % Organic Worm Castings !!!
Worm Castings
We’ve all seen earthworms at one time or another. There are plenty of people however, that do not fully realize
how beneficial these worms are to our environment. The worms assist nature by recycling organic material. In other
words, they eat it. They give back to nature in the form of their excrement, which is actually a fertilizer that is
rich in nutrients and benefits our ecological system in a big way.
As we maintain our garden, flower beds, or even our potted plants, the plants get their nutrients
from the soil. Most everyone knows that. What many people do not realize is that as these nutrients get used up,
they need some way of being replaced. That’s where the worms and their worm castings come into play. When the worms
eat and process the organic waste that they come across in their daily living, their body processes the food much
like the bodies of any other living being. The end result is their body evacuating the waste material. It is this
material then that gives back to the earth.
The earthworm worm castings replace magnesium and other minerals that are used up by the
plants in turn keeping the ground fertile and able to sustain the lives of the next generation of plants. You’ve
heard people say things like "oh, I have a black thumb" or proclaim that they simply can’t grow anything. The root
cause may very well be that the soil in which they are trying to grow things does not have enough nutrients to
sustain the life of the plants.
Earthworms are in fact eco friendly. Not only are the earthworm castings beneficial to the
soil, but as the worms burrow into the ground, they are actually aerating the soil assisting the soil in absorbing
water and all of this combined together promotes strong root growth of the plants in the proper direction. The use
of earthworm casting in the home garden is known to generate bountiful yields.
You can buy earthworm castings here, but if you would prefer to raise your own worms and generate
your own organic worm casting, we can help you with that too. We offer you several different types of worm
composting setups and if you would rather not buy one, but wish to make your own, we can show you that too. We also
offer everything you need to get started, right down to the red worms which are the best species for such an
endeavor.
Your typical worm that is likely available right around your home is likely not suitable for
composting since they really do not eat enough to make it worthwhile. The red worms are great eaters and will
produce plenty of worm castings for you to use.
Harvesting the worm castings is typically done about every 3 months or so and if you feed them plenty of organic
material, they will reproduce enough that you can expand your operation without having to continuously purchase
more red worms. A worm composting system is easy to setup and maintain and can actually save you a lot of money
over time.
